How to get to Shetland

Shetland enjoys excellent links with the UK Mainland and travellers should have no difficulty getting here by air or sea.

By Air

The main arrival / departure point is Sumburgh Airport at the south end of Shetland.  Most of the flights originate in Aberdeen and linking flights are available from quite a few UK and International airports.

The main operator is FlyBe and, as with most operators these days, weight limits apply to your baggage.

By Sea

We enjoy a daily (overnight) ferry service to / from Aberdeen (some journeys go via the Orkney Islands) operated by Northlink Ferries.
The ferries, mv Hrossey and mv Hjaltland are both modern well appointed and comfortable vessels with ensuite cabin facilities, restaurants and, two comfortable bars.
Booking well in advance is recommended for peak season travel.
